Ask a Conservator Day

Join us for our third annual Ask a Conservator Day on November 4th, 2021. Last year's event featured fantastic conservation and preservation professionals demonstrating the incredible ways our community works to preserve cultural heritage, as well as sharing personal stories about their connection to conservation. Let's continue to use social media to increase public awareness of conservation!

By using the hashtag #AskAConservator on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram, together we can provide insights into your work as conservation professionals, reaching emerging professionals, arts aficionados, and people totally unfamiliar with conservation.

We need your help! Please promote this event on your social media accounts and participate in any way that feels appropriate. A few ideas include answering questions about conservation on your personal social media, working with your institution to use their social media handles to engage with their audiences, or answering questions on a livestream from your lab or workspace. We'll be sharing the content you create, amplifying your reach and showcasing your work!

Additionally, we're hosting an "Ask Me Anything" style panel on the 4th at 3 pm ET! We'll be gathering questions in advance and answering live questions from our followers. While anyone will be welcome to respond to the questions we'll be posing, we'd like to assemble a group representing several different specialties, different career stages, and from diverse backgrounds so the answers speak to the variety of perspectives within the field.

We have more information about the event on our website, including sample posts and graphics you can use in promoting the event. Please contact me with any questions or if you're interested in volunteering to participate in the panel at klee@culturalheritage.org.
