Summer Conservation Internship (Austin, TX, USA)

The Texas State Library and Archives Commission seeks applicants for its 2019 Summer Conservation Internship. This internship gives current graduate students and recent graduates of conservation training programs the opportunity to apply their skills in the preservation and treatment of library and archives materials. The intern will employ critical thinking and practical decision-making while working under the supervision of the agency’s conservator.

During the internship, the intern will conduct supervised conservation treatment, including evaluation and documentation, of library and archival materials. The intern will also complete a preservation survey project focusing on scrapbooks or manuscripts. Other projects assigned as relevant may include environmental monitoring and exhibit preparation.
