This position is located in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), Research Services, Preservation Programs Division, Heritage Science Research and Testing. This position reports to the Director of Preservation Programs and is responsible for developing and delivering the Heritage Science Research and Testing mission and strategy. Responsibilities include: Directing programs of applied research that address preservation challenges of a 21st century archives; providing evidence used to inform preservation policy and contribute to setting the overall policies relating to preservation activities and practices; and developing work plans, supervising employees, and managing resources that have a significant influence throughout the organization to address key preservation challenges.
