The Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM), Gilded Objects Conservation Special Interest Group (GOCSIG) and Conservation Framing Special Interest Group are hosting the international symposium on AICCM FRAME: Concept, History and Conservation, Symposium 2, which will be held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, April 3–5, 2019.

The Frames Symposium 2019 encompasses broader concepts associated with conservation of picture frames and gilded surfaces, as well as the history of frames, development of their styles, design and technology, and conservation framing. We have invited papers on varied issues associated with gilded/ polychrome finishes on frames, their conservation problems, history, technology, and research. We expect to attract a broad international audience of conservators, conservation students, curators and historians, students of the curatorial management courses, artists, designers and frame makers. We are pleased to announce that two keynote speakers and International experts on frames, George Bisacca, Metropolitan Museum of Art , New York and John Payne, Melbourne, Australia, have confirmed their attendance.
