BENEATH THE PAINT: Civil War Graffiti Symposium

Learn about the history and preservation of architectural Civil War graffiti at the historic "Blenheim Graffiti House" in Fairfax, Virginia.  
 Writer and teacher Kim O'Connell will explore the history of Civil War graffiti, architectural conservator Chris Mills will discuss the technical side of graffiti conservation, and conservator and paint analyst Kirsten Travers Moffitt  will discuss her work to uncover and preserve graffiti at Blenheim. Presentations will also discuss the use of multispectral imaging as an investigative tool. Tours of the Blenheim house, site, and gallery will follow the talks.
