In response to the ongoing partial government shutdown, American Institute for Conservation Board President Margaret Holben Ellis said,
The leadership of the AIC is concerned about the collections held in trust for the American people and under the care of our federally-employed members. We also extend our support to these AIC members as they struggle to maintain the well-being of our cultural heritage under demanding circumstances. Members are urged to make Congress aware of the ongoing threat to our material culture caused by a prolonged government shut down.
