Graduate Internship in Objects Conservation
Temporary part-time

The Detroit Institute of Arts is offering an 8-week summer internship in the Objects Conservation Lab, open to students currently enrolled in a conservation graduate degree program. Under the supervision of the Objects Conservator, the intern will assist with the examination, documentation and treatment of objects in the DIA's encyclopedic collection. A portion of this internship will focus on the assessment and maintenance of outdoor sculpture, including Ursula von Rydingsvard's Bowl with Folds.  


Classification/Grade/Salary Range - Full-time, Non-Exempt, Temporary (Employment agreement is for 8 weeks at 40 hours per week): $15.38 per hour plus $1,800.00 housing stipend. Please note: This internship includes a housing stipend which can be applied to the adjacent Wayne State University dormitories or the intern's housing of choice. The 8-week internship dates are flexible within the following period: May 13, 2019 - August 9, 2019.
