They will probably walk away thinking that art conservation is the dullest thing on earth

According to an article by Nina Siegal in the October 16, 2018 issue of The New York Times (“Rembrandt’s ‘Night Watch’ to Undergo years of Restoration”  ), when “The Night Watch” undergoes its first conservation treatment in more than forty years, the work—which will take several years-- will be carried out in full view of the public. Those visitors who come again and again to see the progression of the work may gain an understanding of the time frame and nature of a complex conservation treatment. Those who come once will probably walk away thinking that art conservation is the dullest thing on earth.
