The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is going to do it. The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is doing it. So is the Ringling Museum in Sarasota, Florida. What are they doing? They are performing conservation in public. According to an article in a special museums supplement to the October 27, 2019 issue of The New York Times ("Pulling Aside the Curtain", by Geraldine Fabrikant), visible conservation treatment projects, exhibits about conservation, culturally sensitive conservation treatments, and outreach programs to encourage minority students to enter the field of conservation are all ways in which conservation is becoming more accessible.  #conservationinthenews
