The programme consists of demonstrations, lectures and handling sessions, concentrating on conserving the many different materials encountered in transport and industrial collections. It also looks at preventive conservation, handling, storage and display and environmental monitoring and control.

There will also be a visit to a local open air museum dedicated to preserving the industrial heritage and skills of the area with demonstrations of at least three different historic skills.
