Starts:  May 21, 2021 09:00 (ET)
Ends:  May 23, 2021 16:00 (ET)
Paper objects commonly get torn and have pieces missing that can make them more fragile as well as distract from the appreciation of the object. This hands-on workshop will teach participants various paper conservation techniques of infilling losses of paper and inpainting the repaired areas of loss. The course will cover ethics and decision-making, selecting appropriate conservation materials, preparing conservation appropriate adhesives, various paper and pulp infills, and inpainting/toning techniques. A toolkit of the basic tools necessary to complete all the treatments will be included in the registration fee to allow participants to continue to execute the treatments taught after the workshop.
