Luca Bonetti Painting Conservation Studio (Chelsea, NY) is seeking a painting conservation intern to assist senior conservators with various projects, primarily contemporary paintings and artworks. The candidate should be motivated to gain experience within the conservation field and be dedicated to furthering their education and training while working in an established Chelsea painting conservation studio.
Requirements:
- Be a graduate of or be currently enrolled in a graduate conservation program.
- The motivation to explore novel techniques for solving complex conservation issues.
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrated technical conservation skills, strong analytical skills and solid communication skills (verbal and written), particularly with the writing of condition and treatment reports to reflect proficiency with conservation terminology and techniques.
- Must have excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and the Google Suite.)
This studio provides regular opportunities to participate in the conservation of significant modern and contemporary artworks and to work directly with experienced conservators. There is room for the candidate to take on greater responsibilities over time.
