Conservators in Private Practice

Become a Member!

We advocate for and support conservation professionals that work in or own small businesses. Some of our members own large practices and some are sole proprietors, but they serve a wide range of clients including private collectors, corporations, museums, universities, institutions, and governmental agencies. Our group provides a forum for them to exchange information, suggestions, and tips on running private practice conservation businesses.

Formed in 1986, we now have over 700 members.

Our membership is open to any AIC member with an interest in working in private practice.

What We Do

Annual Meeting Programming

We organize private practice programming at the AIC Annual Meeting. Group officers typically plan networking events and business tips or expert panels. In the past, there have been mentoring sessions and speakers presenting on insurance, contracts, and other business-related topics.

Online Learning

We organize hour-long, topic-specific webinars and meet-ups for members. These events provide an informal outlet for learning, gaining tools and skills and sharing concerns and solutions to common problems. Members have access to these events and recordings and can suggest future topics.

Contract Template

We have prepared a contract template for use in your business. Members of the group get immediate access to the template from their digital bookshelf.

Guides for Selecting Practice Insurance

NEW  Group members have access to both a quick guide and a handbook on insurance from their digital bookshelf.
