Here is evidence that working in conservation is good preparation for a job outside of conservation

A profile of Paula Volent, Endowment Manager of Bowdoin College and one of the most successful endowment managers in the United States by Geraldine Fabrikant in the Business Section of the March 14, 2019 issue of The New York Times (“A College Investor Who beats the Ivys” ) 

notes that Volent began taking business courses while running her paper conservation studio and quotes her saying, “Art conservation and investment management are similar. You do a lot of preliminary work. You don’t want to drop an artwork in a solution and it disappears. The same is true in investment.” Here is evidence that working in conservation is good preparation for a job outside of conservation.  #conservationinthenews
