In an enlightening article in the October 23, 2019 issue of The Wall Street Journal on the negotiations that went on to pull together the Louvre’s Leonardo da Vinci exhibit which opens on October 24, 2019  (“The Louvre’s Leonardo Hunt”), Kelly Crow quotes James Bradburne, the Louvre’s General Director saying, “Paintings like stability in humidity and temperature, and don’t like vibration, so the best thing for them is to not move.” If he and his museum really believed this, the Louvre would not be transporting fragile panels from around the world to Paris for the show.  #conservationinthenews
