There are many roles that help shape the organization. Some are elected and others are simply appointed by existing group officers. Unless otherwise noted, all applicants must have a current membership.

Elected Positions

CAN! Vice Chair (3-8 hours/month)

 
Term: Two-three years (2026-2028 or 2029). After the first year, you will move into the Chair position. After the second year, you may lead the Nominating Committee.
 
The Contemporary Art Network (CAN!) supports the growing number of conservators and related professionals challenged with the preservation of contemporary art.
 
Description: Assist the CAN! Chair in organizing conference calls or in-person meetings during the annual meeting with all outgoing, continuing and incoming officers. Run monthly CAN! officer meetings when the Chair is unavailable. Maintain a list of ongoing projects with anticipated timelines and work with CAN! officers to meet or update deadlines. Oversee the update of a CAN! Officers’ handbook, in collaboration with the Chair and CAN! officers. Assist as needed to maintain ongoing CAN! projects.

CAN! Assistant Program Chair (3-8 hours/month)

 
Term: Two years (2026-2028)
 
The Contemporary Art Network (CAN!) supports the growing number of conservators and related professionals challenged with the preservation of contemporary art.
 
Description: This is a two-year term, with the first year as the Assistant Program Chair and the second year as the Program Chair. Together Program Chair and Program Assistant propose and coordinate CAN! programming at the AIC Annual Meeting. These positions also develop session themes and formats, organize social events, as well as collaborate with other groups and networks to plan joint sessions and receptions at the Annual Meeting. Responsibilities include attending Annual Meeting, planning conference calls and reporting back to CAN! officers, attending CAN! officer meetings, drafting and distributing calls for papers, coordinating and participating in abstract reviews, communicating with meeting organizers in the lead up to the Meeting, and moderating sessions at the Meeting. The Assistant Program Chair and Program Chair are required to attend the AIC Annual Meeting.

Description: Oversee CAN!’s budget and file annual budget documents for review by the AIC. Attend, record, and maintain meeting minutes from CAN! officer calls. Take detailed minutes during annual CAN! Business Meeting.

Assistant Program Chair

Term: 1 year. After the first year, you will move into the Program Chair position.

Description: The Assistant Program Chair is responsible for assisting the Program Chair with planning the specialty group sessions for the AIC annual meeting. This includes helping draft the call for papers, reviewing submissions, and coordinating logistics.

Secretary (1 year role)

Term: 1 year temporary role.

Description:

  • Attend, record, and maintain meeting minutes and notes of officer calls.
  • Maintains an archive of EMG's past digital documentation, following AIC Records Management guidelines, and continues to add past non-born-digital documentation to the archive. Includes managing the EMG Online Community and EMG Officer Community libraries.

Member (4 hours/month)

Term: Three years, with the longest serving member of the Committee serving as chair. The term begins and ends at the annual member business meeting (most often in May). Committee members are elected by the membership of AIC following the election procedures outlined in the bylaws.

Description: Per the AIC Bylaws, the AIC Nominating Committee consists of three members for the purpose of presenting a slate of candidates for the annual election of Directors and Officers and Nominating Committee.

The Committee meets virtually approximately once per month between August and February each year to meet with the board, review nominations, and develop candidate slates. In addition, members are expected to assist with outreach and follow-up with potential candidates. A total of approximately 4 hours per month during the nomination period of August through February can be expected. The Chair might volunteer additional hours to prepare for meetings, draft calls for nominations, etc. The Chair has traditionally presented the election results at the annual business meeting.

Requirements: As specified in AIC’s Bylaws, two Nominating Committee members must be Professional Members, and the third may be either a Member, Professional Member, or Fellow.

Secretary/Treasurer (5-10 Hours/Month)

Term: If elected, 2 years.

Description: The Secretary/Treasurer maintains written records of all meetings and activities of the PSG Specialty Group as well as disseminating the Annual Business Meeting agenda and monthly meetings agenda. This role also prepares the annual PSG Budget, reviews all invoices, and tracks group income and expenses. In addition, this role presents the Treasurer's report as the PSG Business Meeting, as well as working with AIC Finance Director and PSG Exec. Committee.

Vice/Assistant Program Chair (4-5 Hours/Month)

Term: If elected, 1-year term which is part of a three-year commitment. After the first year, the officer will move into the Program Chair position. After the second year, the officer will move into the Chair position. If interested, the officer can participate for a fourth year in the optional role of Chair Emeritus.

Description: The Vice/Assistant Program Chair of the Paintings Specialty Group assists the PSG Program Chair in all organizational activities related to the AIC Annual Meeting, including sessions, receptions, and the Tips Session.

Secretary/Treasurer (6-10 hours per month)  

Term: 2-years term, maximum 2 terms, and an additional two years of ex-officio duty on the Nominating Committee.

Description: The Secretary/Treasurer is responsible for financial and specialty group records of PMG.  This includes:

 Treasurer’s duties:

  • Prepares a proposed annual budget for PMG in consultation with the PMG Executive Council.
  • Submits the budget to the AIC Financial Manager.
  • Acts as a liaison with the AIC Financial Manager regarding reimbursement and/or advance payment for PMG members.
  • Records all financial transactions of the PMG.
  • Reconciles quarterly statements from the AIC office with PMG finances. Periodically checks to ensure that expenditures are within budget parameters.
  • Presents the annual financial report at the PMG Business Meeting.

Secretary’s duties:

  • Maintains records for PMG, including minutes of all business meetings, membership data, revenue and expenses, and correspondence.
  • As required, participates in conference calls with the PMG Executive Council and AIC AIC Specialty Group Officers (SGO).
  • Prepares PowerPoint presentation for and records the minutes of the PMG Business Meeting.
  • Ensures archival records on the AIC annual checklist are sent to the AIC.
  • Updates the PMG handbook with assistance from other Executive Council Officers and committee members.
  • Other duties as coordinated or delegated by the PMG Chair.

AIC Annual Meeting and PMG Winter Meeting: 

  • Attends the AIC Annual Meeting and the Biennial Winter Meeting and may request limited reimbursement (up to $1,000 per meeting) for travel expenses from a budget line shared with the other PMG Executive Council Officers.
  • Attends the SGO meeting at the Annual Meeting, if held.

Assistant Program Chair (6-10 hours per month)

Term: 1-year term, followed by one year as Program Chair, and an additional two years ex-officio duty on the Nominating Committee.
 
Description: 
  • Assists the Program Chair and other Executive Council Officers with the organization and presentation of the PMG program at the Annual Meeting and Biennial Winter Meeting. This one-year post also serves as a preparatory year before assuming the role of Program Chair.

Appointed Positions (Application-based)

Member (1 hour per month)

Term: 3 years, with third year as chair

Description: The Awards Committee has three members whose terms are staggered. Every year the committee selects a new member that the AIC Board of Directors then appoints. Each member becomes the chair in their third year.

The committee:

  • maintains, monitors, and evaluates the awards selection and presentation process
  • promotes the importance of the awards and invites nominations
  • reviews nominations and presents recommendations to the AIC Board of Directors
  • gathers biographical information on recipients and assist with award presentations.

Any member from any specialty can serve.

Publication Committee - Co-Chair (2 hours/month)

Term: 2 years (1 year as Co-Chair, 1 year as Chair)

Description: The Book and Paper Group Publications Committee Co-Chair works with the Chair to support BPG publications, including the BPG Annual (AIC Annual Meeting postprints) and the BPG Wiki. The BPG PubComm Co-Chair assists the PubComm Chair while learning the operations of the Committee. The term of service is one year, after which the Co-Chair will serve an additional one-year term as Chair, for a two-year total term. The Co-Chair assists Chair in organizing conference calls and in-person meetings at the AIC Annual Meeting, to develop and report on projects, and to address current and future BPG publication related issues; ensures that summary notes from conference calls reflect the deliberation and reasoning behind actions taken by the committee; runs meetings in the absence of the Chair; assists Chair in managing documentation of PubComm decisions, activities, and other relevant information in the PubComm Online Community, and assists the Chair in preparing a report at the Book and Paper Group business meeting and contributes to the AIC Newsletter, AIC Board of Directors reports, and IAG annual report at direction of BPG Executive Council.

Postprints Co-Editor (3-8 hours/month)

Term: Three years (2026-2029)

The Contemporary Art Network (CAN!) supports the growing number of conservators and related professionals challenged with the preservation of contemporary art.

Description:

●      The Post-Prints Co-Editor will take the lead in organizing, editing, and publishing an upcoming volume of the Contemporary Art Review (CAR), which compiles post-prints from the AIC Annual Meeting and other independently submitted papers.

●      They will join a team of other CAN! Co-Editors, who individually lead their own volumes to publication, but work together when needed to read through papers, brainstorm, provide feedback, and upload materials to and maintain the CAR website.

●      The Co-Editor is expected to spend the first 1.5 to 2 years of their term publishing their volume and the final year of their term in an advisory and assistant role.

●      For their volume, the Co-Editor will: solicit CAR submissions from CAN! and CAN! joint session speakers from the most recent AIC Annual Meeting; collect and organize submitted drafts and materials; read through submitted drafts and send them to appropriate peer reviewers for open and signed feedback; return drafts to authors for revision; have drafts copyedited and again revised by the authors; oversee translation of the titles, keywords, and abstracts of the papers into Spanish; send papers to be formatted following CAR’s style guidelines; confirm amongst Co-Editors and authors that papers are ready for publication; and then upload the published volume and papers to the CAR website.

Member (3 hr/month)

Term: 2 years with two possible 2-year renewals

Description: The Advisory Committee is responsible for the conception and planning of FAIC's Collaborative Workshops in Photograph Conservation. Examples of their recent project include the Preservation and Care of Photograph Albums (2025) and Treatment of Crayon Enlargements (2024) workshops. Committee members provide input, ideas, and advice regarding workshop topics, speakers, and content. Additionally, committee members contribute to special projects as assigned, including acting as the committee liaison for a workshop. Members are expected to commit to monthly calls.

Requirements: Experience with photographic materials. Interest in training and education, public engagement and outreach, or mentorship. Preference may be given to applicants whose geographic locations, employment type, professional background, or experience diversify the current committee demographics. There is no AIC membership requirement. AIC membership is not required.

Vice Chair (2-4 hours per month)

Term: 4 years; Years 1 and 2 as Vice Chair, and Years 3 and 4 as Chair (4-8 hours per month).


Description: The Communications Committee is composed of 6 subcommittees which maintain standards, provide guidelines, and assists as necessary with AIC and Specialty Group publications, annual meeting postprints, outreach, the wiki, and AIC’s web platforms. The committee looks for partnership opportunities between groups both within and outside the organization to improve content, workflows, and volunteer resources.

Additional considerations: Prior experience with print, online publishing, wikis, or content management systems helpful, but not required.

Committee leadership meets quarterly and includes the Chair, Vice Chair, liaisons from each of the subcommittees, the Board Liaison, representatives from the AIC staff, and the AIC editors. The Vice Chair assists the Chair as needed in leading meetings, creating minutes and board reports, and sharing documentation with the wider committee. The Vice Chair may participate in the work of any of the subcommittees and assumes the position of Chair at the end of their term.

Advisory Group Member (2-4 hours per month)

Term: 2 years, (May 1, 2026 - May 31, 2028) with the potential to renew for a second term.  

Description: Connecting to Collections Care shares conservation and preservation expertise with people who care for cultural heritage at small and mid-sized organizations. Our participants primarily come from small to mid-sized cultural institutions—museums, archives, libraries, historic houses and sites, and related non-profits and governmental organizations. They come from a range of backgrounds and some may have little to no formal collections care training, many are beginners or advanced beginners in collections care. Our goal is to provide practical and cost-effective guidance that recognizes the staffing and budgetary constraints faced by smaller organizations. Responsibilities include:

  • Attend monthly virtual meetings during regular business hours.

  • Suggest ideas for programming, including online webinars and courses.

  • Periodically take responsibility for contacting and securing qualified presenters.

  • Review webinar and course feedback and survey results to improve the quality of the programming offered.

  • Track hours spent on C2C Care activities and report annually to C2C Care leadership.

  • Advocate for C2C Care to our target audience and disseminate announcements as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Interest in preservation and collections care outreach to the broader community of cultural heritage professionals.

  • Prior experience with outreach efforts, partnerships, etc., with C2C Care’s target audience of small to mid-size institutions and an understanding of their particular challenges of limited budgets and resources.

Education & Training Committee - Member (2-3 hours/month)

Term: 3 years with possible 2-year renewal

Description: Members of AIC's Education and Training Committee are essential in promoting the continuing education and professional development of AIC’s members. Committee members review FAIC scholarship and grant applications (at least two cycle each year) as well as evaluate and comment on workshop topics and proposals. Committee members also assist with the planning of the Foundational Skills Workshop Series, contribute to special projects as assigned, and commit to attending monthly calls.

Desired qualifications or review criteria: Applicants must be AIC members. Preference may be given to applicants whose professional background or experience diversify the current committee demographics. People who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or having a disability are encouraged to apply.

Postprints Assistant Editor

Term: 2 years, two positions open

Description: Join the team producing the Electronic Media Review! In this role, you will help organize outreach to presenters from the EMG sessions at the annual meeting, review their submissions for completeness, then help share with our professional copyediting and layout team. You will also help share author proofs once those come in. Workload varies throughout the year but is most intense directly after the annual meeting.

Communications Co-Officer (3-5 hours/month)

Term: 2 years
 
Description: Serve as secretary and lead editor for the Emerging Conservation Professionals Network. This role is central to ECPN’s outreach by moderating the Network’s various social media platforms, contributing to AIC News articles, and liaising with other AIC committees and specialty groups. This role may also include creating or editing online resources and programming.

Member (2 positions open, 2-3 hours/month)

Term: 3-year terms with an option to renew for 1-year as an emeritus member.

Description: The Emergency Committee seeks 2 people with diverse expertise to join our interdisciplinary team. We encourage applicants who are concerned about the increasing risk of loss of cultural heritage due to natural hazards and other emergencies. Volunteers should be available to attend one hour-long virtual meeting per month plus at least 2 hours work on projects each month. While AIC membership is required, members do not have to be conservators to serve on the Emergency Committee. 

Who we are: The Emergency Committee aims to promote awareness and increase member knowledge in the areas of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery for cultural heritage. Members participate in one of the subcommittees, Programs & Partnership and AIC EC Wiki / Zotero Library. Project work often involves collaboration with other committees and networks, outside experts and other allied professionals. In our meeting, we also discuss issues, initiatives and events related to emergency and disaster response.

Projects for 2026-2027:

  • Plan and deliver programming for the 2027 Annual Meeting.
  • Review and update of the AIC EC Zotero Library of emergency planning and response resources
  • Write, edit and create content for AIC News and social media.

Term: Approximately one year

Description: The Ethics Core Documents Review Task Force is seeking two individuals who previously participated in the ECD Review Task Force Subgroups to serve on the core group of the ECDs Review Task Force. The Task Force is charged with reviewing and proposing revisions to the AIC Code of Ethics, Guidelines for Practice, and the Commentaries to the Guidelines for Practice

Requirements: A strong commitment to conservation (in all its aspects) is necessary, but previous AIC volunteer experience is not required. Non-conservators including community stakeholders, scientists, collections care professionals, and other allied professionals are encouraged to apply.

Vice Chair (5 hours/month)

Imaging Working Group - Vice Chair to Chair

Term: 3 years: 1-year term that transitions into 2-year term as Chair

Deadline: March 3, or until filled

Description: The AIC Imaging Working Group (IWG) is an international community of conservators, photographers, scientists, and others with the shared interested of conservation imaging. We prioritize communication, connection, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to develop and share resources, projects, and solutions. One major effort has been to develop an Imaging Wiki on the AIC Wiki platform (www.conservation-wiki.com/wiki/Imaging) as a dynamic online resource for the community. The IWG is partnered with the AIC Research and Technical Studies (RATS) Specialty Group and plans annual imaging tracks at the AIC annual meeting.

Program Chair (5 hours/month)

Description: The AIC Imaging Working Group (IWG) is an international community of conservators, photographers, scientists, and others with the shared interested of conservation imaging. We prioritize communication, connection, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to develop and share resources, projects, and solutions. Our major effort has been to develop an Imaging Wiki on the AIC Wiki platform (www.conservation-wiki.com/wiki/Imaging) as a dynamic online resource for the community. Allied Health and Safety Professional (2-4 hours/month)

Term: 2 years, renewable

The AIC Health & Safety Network (professional partner with the Museum WG) has a member position open for an Allied Health and Safety Professional.

The Health & Safety Network (H&SN) is a group of conservators and health and safety professionals who study health and safety trends, collaborate on health and safety resources, and educate AIC members and other cultural professionals on best practices for health and safety issues.

 

Responsibilities

  • At-large position providing general support and guidance for H&S matters.
  • Monitor the Health & Safety Network Forum, C2CC Forum, and other forums for health and safety queries; liaise with relevant IH/OEHS to answer questions about health and safety concerns.
  • Assists in reviewing/editing H&SN articles and wiki content.
  • Assists the Respirator Fit Test Coordinator with Fit Tests at the AIC Annual Meetings, either by running the fit test or liaising with AIHA Museum & Cultural Heritage Industry Working Group to find local OEHS professionals to run the fit test in the city where the Annual Meeting is held.
  • Provides guidance on Fit Test supplies and equipment restocking and upgrades.
  • Attend H&SN Monthly Meetings.
  • Becoming a member of the AIHA MCHIWG is strongly encouraged.

Requirements
An Allied H&S Professional member can be from any related field, e.g.: Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Occupational Medicine, Fire Protection.

Member (3-4 hours/month)

Description: The Member Engagement Subcommittee supports both new and existing AIC members to ensure they are acknowledged and made aware of benefits and various opportunities in the organization, with a focus on enhancing member experience. Alongside committee and staff members, you encourage members to take on volunteer roles, provide support to first-time volunteers, recognize the work of volunteers, and promote ongoing member engagement in AIC, including promotion of membership designations. Members serve staggered two-year terms with an option to serve a second two-year term. While most of this subcommittee work is collaborative, the chair's additional duties are to schedule meetings and coordinate agendas.

The group is currently:

  • Planning and hosting the Monthly Member Meetup.
  • Developing materials and communication strategies to ensure all members feel welcomed and supported.
  • Creating a plan to encourage members, particularly new members, to serve in a volunteer capacity for AIC.
  • Hosting an ongoing conservation book club.
  • Planning ways for members to engage with one another at the annual meeting.

Additional considerations: We are seeking to fill a range of career stages and types. If you don’t feel you can make a commitment to serve a full term, we welcome members who would like to work on a small project during unstructured time. Member (3hrs/Month)

Term: 3 years (with option to renew for one additional term) 

Description: The Membership Committee is a standing committee and is specified in the organization’s bylaws. We are seeking two new members of this committee with a strong preference for members with an architectural or paintings conservation background.

The committee consists of five (5) members who are Professional Members with no more than two (2) members who are Fellows only. Committee members represent the diverse disciplines, educational paths, and geographical areas reflected in the AIC membership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review applications for Professional Member and Fellow membership to ensure that minimum standards are met by applicants and the applicant’s practice is in accordance with AIC Core Documents. Members use a rubric to evaluate the applicant's demonstration of the AIC Essential Competencies.
  • Assist in encouraging applications, and communicating to members the benefits of being a Professional Member and taking leadership roles in AIC.
  • Report annually to the AIC Board of Directors on trends in applications and changing needs of membership, along with suggested actions in response to noted trends and changing needs of membership.

Requirements:

  • Members are appointed by the AIC Board of Directors and serve staggered three-year terms, with the option to serve a second term. The chair serves one two-year term within the second term of service. The incoming chair is recommended by the outgoing chair and approved by the committee members. The committee members represent diverse specialties and parts of the country (we’re in four different time zones!).

  • Members of the committee must be either current Professional Members and/or Fellows and be willing to review, meet about, and vote on applications three times annually.

Description: The Outreach Subcommittee creates, reviews, and improves content to help AIC members engage with their communities as professionals. The subcommittee collaborates with other groups within AIC, or recommends partnerships or alliances, to research and engage in strategic activities that facilitate outreach. Members participate in monthly Zoom meetings.

Requirements: None

Additional considerations: Prospective members should have broad interest in communications and outreach, including community outreach. Preference may be given to applicants in specialties or areas of focus not currently represented in the subcommittee.

Postprints Editor (5-15 hours/month)

Term: Ongoing

The Objects Specialty Group is seeking an additional team member for the Postprints editorial team. Applicant should excel at time management and organization, have strong writing skills, a love for editing, and a diplomatic communication style with regard to both the nuances of copy editing and enforcement of deadlines. OSG members at all career stages are welcome to apply.

The position is time-intensive, requiring several hours of work per week throughout the year, although this can be done on your own schedule and is weighted more heavily to the months following the annual meeting. There are no set term limits for this position, but a commitment of at least two years is ideal for continuity of the publication.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Correspond with presenters prior to Annual Meeting to communicate author responsibilities, guidelines, resources, and deadlines
  • Send and receive drafts, image files, proofs, author license agreement forms (ALAFs) and other correspondence to and from authors and vendors using Dropbox and Gmail
  • Update status of each paper using a shared task management platform (currently Trello); update and revise submission dates for missed deadlines and communicate with authors about new deadlines by email             
  • Maintain archive of original submissions, individual image files, final published PDFs, and ALAFs for each published article; update files in Dropbox as drafts and additional files are received
  • Solicit anonymous peer reviewers for article submissions, ensuring that there are no conflicts of interest; prepare drafts and contact sheets for peer reviewers and respond to reviewers’ questions as they arise
  • Read each article for adherence to JAIC Style Guidelines, consistency with other articles in the volume, clarity, logical order of presentation, presence of sufficient illustrations, correct and consistent use of terminology, factual accuracy, support for claims, appropriate use of references, etc. 
  • Update OSG Postprints website (WordPress); upload abstracts and full articles (where applicable) to OSG Postprints website when published
  • Send manuscripts and image files to copy editing and layout editing vendors (currently Aptara)
  • Report to the OSG leadership on several calls during the year and the OSG membership at the Annual Meeting

Website Coordinator (1-4 hours per month)

Description: The Website Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and updating the Photographic Materials Group’s online content. Our current website can be found here. The coordinator works with the PMG Communications Committee and liaises with AIC staff to make the updates.

Description: PCN is looking for a person to join our interdisciplinary team as Social Media officer. We encourage applicants who have an interest in preventive conservation and collection care. Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook necessary. Volunteers should be available to attend one hour-long virtual meeting per quarter plus at least 2 hours work on projects each month. While AIC membership is required, members do not have to be conservators to serve on PCN.

Description: The Sustainability Committee seeks 2 members to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary team for a two-year term. The positions are open to all AIC members, including interim year members, Associates, PAs, and Fellows. Members should expect to attend one, hour-long virtual meeting per month with an additional commitment of 2-3 hours of work each month. 
 
We are seeking members with an enthusiasm for leading the field in a more sustainable direction through advocacy and innovation. While certainly not required, we are especially interested in applicants with interest in hosting webinars and in future leadership on the committee.  We encourage applicants from all specializations, as well as those whose day-to-day work is impacted by climate change. We are open to your new and interesting ideas on ways the cultural heritage preservation field can adapt and innovate to address this crisis. 
 
Who we are:
 
The committee is tasked with providing resources on sustainable conservation practices for AIC members. Our activities include hosting an event at the AIC Annual Meeting, maintaining the Sustainable Practices Wiki, and sharing stories and information through social media, workshops, publications, and presentations. 

Member Tasks: 
  • Support committee projects to increase awareness of sustainable practices in the conservation community.
  • Attend monthly conference calls with committee members.
  • Contribute to research, publications, our quarterly blog, the “Green Tea” podcast, and social media posts.
  • Plan and host webinars with experts in the field about topics related to sustainability
  • Write, edit, and post calls for new entries for the AIC Sustainable Practices Wiki.
  • Help plan an event and the coordinate the SC booth at the AIC Annual Meeting.
  • Collaborate with related committees, networks, and working groups.
  • Connect with outside experts and other allied professionals to build a network of sustainability-focused individuals, institutions, and organizations.

Emerging Conservation Professional Liaison (2 hours/week)

Term: 1 year, with a possibility to renew for a second term.

Description: The Textile Specialty Group (TSG) is seeking an emerging conservator to fill the volunteer role of TSG/ECPN Liaison, with a time commitment of around 2 hours per week. TSG officers are looking for someone to take on the following:

  • Attend quarterly TSG leadership meetings and provide updates on related ECPN happenings 
  • Post about relevant ECPN events on the TSG message board
  • Participate in organization of relevant events, such as meet-ups, lab tours, etc. 
  • Provide feedback to TSG leadership on how to better serve ECPN members 
  • Assist the Program Committee in the implementation of the mentorship program
  • Participate in Wiki editing 
  • Write updated position description of TSG ECPN liaison role for TSG leadership

There will be additional opportunities for involvement in other TSG initiatives and flexibility on the amount of self-leadership tailored to the candidate. This position is a great opportunity to network with TSG leadership and membership.

ECPN Advisory Committee Member (2-3 hours/month)

Term: 3 years (2026-2029)

Description: The Advisory Committee establishes a continuum of institutional memory and acts as advisors to the Chair, Program Chair, and special project committees. The ECPN member of the Advisory Committee acts as a liaison between WAG and ECPN, and helps support member programming and relay ECP needs and offerings to the WAG Officers and membership, for the mutual benefit of WAG and ECPs. The ECPN Advisor is expected to attend WAG Officer and Advisor meetings, held every 2-3 months.

  • We publish a call for organizational leaders at the beginning of each year. Please apply by the deadline for first consideration. We will consider applications on a rolling basis and will remove positions as we fill them.

  • Committee members review applications for board-appointed/non-elected positions and make recommendations to the board, which makes the final decision by vote.
  • Applicant should hear back from the committee chair about their appointments in mid- to late March.

  • Although we begin training new leaders in April, all terms officially begin and/or end at the AIC Annual Meeting or related business meeting. We list term length in the position descriptions.
